ZADCO Sub sea Corrosion Engineer

Job Description


Job purpose & Scope
1.     Provide technical advice on pipeline corrosion and related matters covering corrosion studies related to cathodic protection, intelligent pigging,  treatment , prevention, monitoring and analysis.
2.     Provide advice on material selection, chemical treatment and analysis on corrosion  for subsea pipelines and structures.
3.     Carry out and conduct corrosion analysis, studies and surveys on pipeline and structure to determine corrosion behavior.
4.     Develop routine and intelligence pigging programs and monitor outcome of the same.
5.     Review inspection reports for pipelines and structures and facilities to determine cause of corrosion.
6.     Provide technical advice on implementation of corrosion control measures and follow up/monitor the implementation phase.
7.     Provide material selection/analysis services to determine type of material to be used and determine its cause of failure.
8.     Prepare technical specification and design basis for cathodic protection projects.
9.     Evaluate the adequacy/effectiveness of corrosion control systems on pipeline and structure.
10.  Carry out studies/analysis on the effect of corrosion due to changes in operations mode.
11.  Provide technical assessment on corrosion behavior considering the adequacy of chemicals, metallurgy and protection measures.
12.  Evaluate intelligent pigging survey results.
13.  Set up corrosion data management system for all subsea plant equipment/facilities.
14.  Provide technical assistance to prepare all corrosion related procedures.
15.  Carry out prequalification of corrosion contractors/consultants for inclusion in company' bidders list.
16.  Evaluate facilities integrity and determine their remaining life based on prediction models.

Minimum Requirements:
1.     Bachelor degree holder in Engineering preferably in Chemical / Mechanical / Corrosion  disciplines
2.     10 years experience within the Oil & Gas industry
3.      Familiar with Software Applications or programs  such as  ECE4, CASANDRA & PACER
4.     Additional skills or certification in Intelligent pigging inspection and cleaning pigging

Forensic Metallurgist Job

For this position we are looking for a materials or metallurgical engineer with mechanical and materials failure experience. The successful candidate will perform engineering evaluations of failed consumer and industrial products, analysis of equipment and machinery design and evaluation of industrial failures. Recent experience in engineering evaluations of corrosion and mechanical failures involving a broad range of metal and plastic materials as well as experience in Materials laboratory analyses including SEM, EDS, metallography, optical microscopy, micro-hardness testing, chemistry and x-ray examinations is required.

The Forensic Specialist I will serve as a technical expert in one or more of the following areas: fire science, origin and cause investigations, failure analysis of electrical, mechanical and material systems and components, warnings and instructions, product liability, code evaluation, accident reconstruction, computer modeling, tool mark analysis, analysis of building systems and construction techniques, fire protection and alarm system evaluation, analytical chemistry and other forensic endeavors required to complete an investigation.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
The forensic specialist will be familiar with the proper elements of a forensic investigation including proper documentation, rules of evidence, scene and lab safety, as well as the various procedures and policies existing within the Travelers.

Required to travel to loss scenes to assist with and become part of the investigative team. To this end the Forensic Specialist II will be responsible for various aspects of the investigation including evidence collection and preservation, witness interviews, analysis of the scene and to provide technical advice and consultation to attorneys and claims staff associated with the loss.

Required to conduct research and testing, prepare reports (verbal and written), and to aid the claims and legal staff with the scientific aspects of the case.

Required to become familiar with applicable codes and industry standards as well as laboratory testing protocols that may be required during an investigation. In addition, the forensic specialist will provide testimony in legal proceedings including depositions, trial, mediations and arbitration.

Prepare materials and data as needed to support the overall functions of Risk Control, Claims Services, and Underwriting. Such materials may include newsletters, reports, or presentations as needed to best fit the intended audience and subject matter.


Senior Metallurgist

The Senior Metallurgist shall have more than twenty years experience in Onshore and Offshore projects in the field of materials selection, metallurgy, corrosion control/mitigation, welding and failure investigations. The primary responsibilities will be to prepare material selection diagram and provide material (metallic/non-metallic) selections for major equipment and piping for various petrochemical, chemical, refinery, synfuel, Gas/Oil Offshore Platforms and cryogenic plants. Must have worked on materials (High pressure and Cryogenic temperature), corrosion, welding, inspection, failure analysis and laboratory investigations and is knowledgeable of current ASME, ANSI, NACE, AWS, ASTM, API Codes and Standards including foreign codes such as BS, JIS, AS, DIN and others. 


Essential Skills / Qualifications:
B.S in Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering or Materials Engineering. 
Licenses: PE 
•15 + years, post graduate experience 
•Proficient in use of computer word processor and spreadsheet software. 
•Experience in the oil and gas industry, knowledge of the Engineering and construction segment, including offshore and onshore. 
•Understanding of mechanical and structural components as it relates to materials engineering assessments and recommendations. 
•Full knowledge of FCCU (Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit) and experience Providing material selection recommendations for both grass-root and revamps/expansions projects is preferable.

The New Mines Development team is charged with successfully assessing, planning and executing a series of new projects involving several gold and base metals mines and centralised processing plants.

The Senior Process Engineer will require a successful track record in designing all aspects of the gold processing plants and developing and leading the metallurgical team that will undertake the feasibility studies, and oversee projects through the construction phase and into production.

Head Of Materials And Corrosion Engineering


An international Oil and Gas company is looking for a Head of Materials & Corrosion Engineering to be based on a permanent basis in Muscat, Oman.

Role:

This position reports to the Head Material Integrity Consultancy and will work as part of a team supporting the Material and Corrosion Engineers across the all assets, the position is responsible to provide material engineering solutions and to manage the development and application of technical skills, capabilities, tools, processes, practices, etc. to maximize the value creation in associated work.

The main purpose of the position is to provide material selection and corrosion management advice to Asset and Project Teams as the company's senior professional advisor in Materials and Corrosion Engineering. To be responsible for the cost effective material selection and corrosion mitigation strategies which will ensure (technical) integrity of the materials applied in subsurface and surface hydrocarbon production, processing and transportation systems through their life cycle. Provide day to day advice as needed on materials and corrosion management to operations & project teams. Evaluate and implement use of new materials and corrosion monitoring techniques and to expand the envelope of currently used non-metallic materials to achieve UEC1 (UER) Materials Integrity Strategies. Verify contractor's materials selection reports/recommendations are fit for purpose. To liaise with manufacturers to develop and deliver new high quality materials and techniques; To be a Principal technical; expert in metallic & non-metallic materials, corrosion mechanisms, corrosion monitoring, corrosion mitigation, cathodic protection, failure analysis, and coating technology

Requirements:

- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline with a post graduate qualification in a materials/corrosion related subject.
- Minimum of 10 years experience of material selection and corrosion management in the oil and gas industry.

- Knowledgeable about subsurface and surface oil & gas facilities and processes.

- Awareness of mechanical, process and pipeline engineering discipline skills. 
- Mastery in depth competencies and world class expert professional in material selection (metallic & non-metallic materials), corrosion principles, metallurgy and welding, corrosion protection, corrosion management, pipeline inspection and maintenance, integrity of static equipment, cathodic protection and coating systems.

- Sound appreciation and judgement on economical aspects as well limitations in the local working environment. Proven track record with major oil & gas E&P companies in materials & corrosion management at senior technical and supervisory level- Broad experience in a multi-project EP company environment with a thorough understanding of the technical and commercial issues and risks associated with the development and production of oil and gas.- Demonstrated contribution in providing special material solution for EOR, steam and other specialized recovery techniques with a minimum 5 years experience at the same job level.
