Principal Engineer-Metallurgy -Onshore / Offshore

4yr Bachelors Degree in Metallurgical Engg
Min 15 years related experience preferably from working for EPC in O & G industry.
Total Min.18+yrs exp. necessary
Supervise , lead team of engineers , designers , carrying out detailed engg work for largesized projects
assuming responsibility for conceptual and detailed design and provide necessary technical infor in compliance with tender specs , within budgeted man hour and project schedules. Determine methods and solutions , engg problems , Technical Specialist and select the most efficient.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Review ITB , documents , provide technical support to proposal engineering team. Ensure process
design related scope is well understood for cost and schedule purposes.
Supervise , verification of Material Selection. Use Corrosion calculation software such as ECE IV to ensure project specs details in the FEED Packages are feasible and participate in Contract / Risk review and identify the risk related to project.
Perform responsibility of a Lead Engineer on major projects. Review contract requirements for project execution , organise the preparation of TechDoc Register.
Verify and conceptualise the most optimum work routes.
Coordinate with projects / planning on project time schedl.
Develop manpower charts and schedules
Participate in monthly project review meetings
Ensure Integrity is maintained in the project and get the engineering deliverables reviewed / audited by technical or subject specialists available in the group..
Supervise and provide guidance in the development of Metallurgy key deliverables , MSD , MSR , CMM , Painting , Insulation and Coating specifications. Identify and resolve discrepancies and divergences from original proposal through the instigation of technical queries to projects / client.
Supervise the preparation of Material selection for identification and verification of corrosion allowance potential cracking mechanisms & CI injections.
Supervise and provide guidance in the dev of MSD , MSR , CMM and technical documents issued for IDCs and the integration of other engg discipline data inputs.
Preview of technical inquiry requests ( Inquiry Requisitions ) from vendors , participate in the technical evaluation of vendor bid offers. Direct provide guidance in the Technical Bid Evaluations ( TBE ) .
Interface and regularly meet with client and vendor representatives , conduct internal staff progress meetings.
Participate in employee perf. evaluations , establish performance criteria , identify employee strengths and weaknesses , and recommend training and development req.
Ensure strict compliance with Company s ISO
Demonstrates overall supervision and administrative oversight of personnel incl engineers , designers in a project group.
Coordinates to achieve productive relationship with the offshore engineering centres within the organisation ( globally ) .
Provides necessary guidance on manpower planning and takes responsibility for recruitment and performance mgt
Provides tech expertise , support during various phases of the project design or execution.
Demonstrates experience and expertise with various engineering deliverables and procurement engg & is aware of commercial , contractual and administrative aspects of the departments scope of work.
Assists in planning and mgt of departmental / team objectives , budgets and resource requirements.
Promotes innovation , departmental improvement and team working for continuous improvement of knowledge base , cost consciousness , and Quality and Safety Procedures.
Ensure , facilitate awareness in all design and activities across the discipline.
Promotes QC throughout their team ensuring that the team works within the QMS , participates in regular quality audits.
